March Luncheon
We invite you to our March General Membership Luncheon. We will be hearing from Doug Crandall , President of Blue Rudder.
Doug Crandall, founder and President of Blue Rudder, is a graduate of West Point and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has led multiple units in the Army, and spent time as a Customer Service Operations Manager at Amazon.com. For five years, Doug taught leadership at West Point, where he won the Excellence in Teaching Award and exceeded the academy average in every area of teaching feedback during each semester he taught. Doug also transformed the academy’s core leadership curriculum (the first revision in nearly 20 years), and co-authored and edited the internationally-released book Leadership Lessons from West Point.
While at Amazon, Doug created and taught Amazon Leadership Foundations (ALF), a leadership development program for front-line leaders. In addition to teaching at West Point and Amazon, Doug has lectured for Stanford, Duke, The Wharton School, Columbia (a graduate-level course in leadership development), Cornell, JPMorgan Partners, GE, Citigroup, IBM, National City Bank, and Pittney Bowes.
Doug recently signed on as the Director of Leadership Programs and Corporate Education at Columbia Basin College. His first effort has been to establish a leadership fellows program for high potential managers in the Tri-cities, Washington.

Azure Promoted To Administrative Assistant
Stacey Azure was recently promoted to Administrative Assistant in the Public Affairs department for Franklin PUD. Previously, she was a Customer Service Representative for just over two years. She will be providing a variety of administrative and technical support functions for the department including website updates, internal and external communications, event planning, preparing presentations, and providing input for Public Affairs plans and strategies. She will also contribute to the public image for the PUD by assisting in preparing communication tools, including layouts for print advertising and scripts for radio and TV advertising.
Her thorough knowledge of the Customer Service, Accounting, and Broadband departments is a distinct advantage for the Public Affairs department. It will be great to bring in the New Year with her positive can-do attitude and talent. Please welcome her when you see her at community events and functions.

Pasco Citizens for Better Schools Levy Committee launches website
This all volunteer committee has been working to promote school bond and levies votes for longer than the committee members can remember!
Pasco’s last double levy failure occurred in 1972 resulting in job and program loss – such as the strings program that was reinstated last year – after 35 years! This is an example of what motivates our committee; we work to help provide nationally recognized academic, art, music, drama and sports programs for Pasco students while helping provide some of the best maintained educational facilities in the region. We are proud to share that Pasco graduation rates now beat the State average.
