Sunshine Ball Tickets On Sale NOW!

We cordially invite you to attend Carnival by the Canal. This masquerade ball is a formal installation of new board members, and appreciation for board members, volunteers, and community figures who’ve previously served.

Food selected by the event committee to highlight the theme of the evening will be prepared by the Red Lion’s new Executive Chef, Charles Reed. Attendees will be entertained by one of the Tri-Cities’s most beloved bands, Colorblind.

Applicator training to be offered this winter

Columbia Basin College Receives Outstanding Agriculture Program Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Columbia Basin College, in Pasco, Wash., has been selected as the 2010 Washington Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Agricultural Education Program.  Kerrin Molton serve as instructors for the program.

This award, given by the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE), recognizes the nation’s most successful agricultural education programs by highlighting the local programs and teachers that achieve success.  Winners are educators who have developed an outstanding agricultural education program at either the postsecondary or adult education level.  Applicants are judged on a variety of criteria, including teaching philosophy, effective classroom and experiential instruction, development of partnerships, and professional growth.

Columbia Basin College will compete against Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Ag Ed Program Award winners from surrounding states for the opportunity to be named the 2010 NAAE Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Ag Ed Program for Region I.  Regional winners will receive personal use of a Toyota Tundra pickup truck for two years, an expense paid trip to attend the 2010 NAAE convention in Las Vegas, and an invitation to a special awards dinner.  The NAAE Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Ag Ed Program Award is sponsored by Toyota as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

NAAE is the professional association for agricultural educators.  The mission of NAAE is “professionals providing agricultural education for the global community through visionary leadership, advocacy and service.”  The NAAE office is located in Lexington, Ky.

Small Business Loans

Do you need money to expand your business?

The Hanford Area Economic Investment Fund has money available to lend to businesses with loan amounts typically ranging from $150,000-$500,000.

Loan applicants must be the owner/operator of a business in Benton or Franklin County, must demonstrate need and the ability to repay the loan. Loans may be made for any purpose including equipment, leasehold improvements, research and development costs, working capital, etc.  Prefer purchase of land, new building construction, acquisition and renovation of existing buildings, purchase and installation of machinery and equipment, and leasehold improvements.
